CHERITON FITZPAINE GARDEN CLUB

We are a very friendly and thriving village group with approximately 65 members. We usually hold our meetings in the Parish Hall on the third Thursday of the month. We have visiting speakers, workshops and demonstrations, as well as social evenings, and two shows a year which are open to the public.

Our workshops are proving very popular with attendance and interest growing at each event and attracts all ages.  We have made Christmas wreaths and garlands,  summer baskets, pots and also made a floral arrangement.  There are lots of ways to be creative!

Funds are raised by members’ subscriptions which are £12 for an individual over 18 and £6 for under 18's. Sometimes we also hold fund-raising events.  Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

In addition we occasionally visit gardens of interest during the Summer – for example we visited Marwood Hill Gardens in North Devon, which was followed by a delicious cream tea, and when Covid restrictions allow we plan to visit gardens equally as interesting – watch this space!

Our A.G.M is now held in January and the Committee meets regularly and works hard to organise special events. It puts together the programme for the following year plus the schedules for the Spring and Summer shows, which include some classes open to non-members.

Visitors are very welcome to come to our meetings (£2.00 donation).
