CHERITON FITZPAINE GARDEN CLUB

We are a very friendly and thriving village group with approximately 50 members. We usually hold our meetings in the Parish Hall on the third Thursday of the month, but not exclusively, as our Skittles and Social evening was held in the local pub this February. A great night was had by all!

We may occasionally have visiting speakers, workshops and demonstrations, as well as social evenings, and two shows a year which are open to the public.

Our workshops are proving very popular with attendance and interest growing at each event and attracts all ages.  We have made Christmas wreaths and garlands,  summer baskets, pots and also made a floral arrangement.  There are lots of ways to be creative!

Funds are raised by members’ subscriptions which are £12 for an individual over 18. Sometimes we also hold fund-raising events.  Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

In addition we visit gardens of interest during the Summer – for example we visited Marwood Hill Gardens in North Devon, which was followed by a delicious cream tea, and we plan to visit gardens equally as interesting – watch this space!

Our A.G.M is held in January and there is a small Committee who meets three times a year. It organises the show programmes for the following year  which include some classes open to non-members. Members are now being encouraged to bring ideas of what they would like to do within the club, and help to organise events.

Please look at the WHAT' page to see what is coming up next.

Visitors are very welcome to come to our meetings (£2.00 donation).
